For many, the practices and motivations behind Wahhabi Islam (most terrorists claim this sect, including Bin Laden) are difficult and mysterious. The article linked under News (and here) gives great insight into at least one outworking of the attempt to please God by outward conformity, while ignoring matters of the heart. In fact, one could be attacked and beaten by the religious police while attempting to save the life of a young neighbor by taking her to the emergency room in one’s car. These thugs, meanwhile, imagine that they are pleasing Allah (the most merciful and wise, we are told) by keeping public immorality (recorded music?) off the streets. Does this mean public immorality, crime and other destructive habits don’t matter, and we should all do whatever whenever? Absolutely not. Our country, as every school child should know, was founded with the Declaration of Independence, not Anarchy. We are all responsible before the God of Heaven, and will account for our hearts and actions to His Son, whether now (willingly) or later at the judgment seat (in chains). Conversly, beating women because the wind blows up their dress very clearly demonstrates what the wise and merciful Allah really cares about…
Will the Wahhabi version of Islamic law ever rule in America? Doubtful. Are we, as American consumers, supporting this kind of oppressive, revolting dictatorship?
